The sky's the limit for Joe
Seven Trent Water employee, Joe is currently studying Water Engineering, on Develop's Advanced Apprenticeship programme. The scheme comprises of technical classroom training to provide Joe with the necessary theory for his desired job role. This is supported by work based learning, which allows him to gain experience in real life situations. Joe believes that the design of the programme is ideal in helping 'put the theory learned in the classroom to use'.
Joe registered on the Apprenticeship programme because he saw it as a good career opportunity, where he would be fully supported throughout his training.
The scheme has exceeded all of Joe's expectations by providing interesting training elements and an excellent job role. He also enjoys the chance to travel to different places for training where he constantly gets to meet new people.

On successful completion of his Apprenticeship, Joe plans to undertake a degree in Water Environment, to develop his skills and career prospects further.
A Typical Water Engineering Apprenticeship includes:
- A Competence based element – NVQ Level 3: Maintain Water Supply Networks
- Knowledge based element – City and Guilds Level 3 in Water Engineering
