Risk Assessment with attitude
Overview
A risk assessment is only as good as the person who writes it. Human factors play a huge part in the risk assessment process. Our perception of hazards and quantification of risk is often down to personal experience, as despite all the risk calculation methods, we are typically poor at quantifying severity and likelihood.
The effectiveness of control measures is also highly dependant on human behaviour. When implementing controls it is natural to consider how the control will reduce the risk, but often we fail to contemplate how and why employees might choose to ignore or bypass such controls.
Who is it for
All employees carrying out Risk Assessments.
