Course overview

A 3 day training course to teach learners how to install and commission medium pressure domestic gas regulators, not greater than 2 bar pressure. The MET4 part of the course tests learners' gas safety competence to install and commission light commercial gas sized meters up to 40m/3/hr with pipework up to 2" in size.

Pre-requisite/entry requirements

Learners must hold one of the following core qualifications:

  • CMA1
  • CESP1
  • CCN1
  • COCN1
  • CCCN1

  • Learners will have an appreciation of the gas safety regulations, standards and procedures relating to the safe operation and on-going maintenance of medium pressure meters. No other work regarding the meter surroundings or downstream of outlet will take place.

What qualifications will you achieve?

  • Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will be issued with ERS accredited qualifications in Testing/Commissioning Domestic Medium Pressure Gas Regulators (REGT1) and Non-Domestic Diaphragm Meters (MET4).

How is this training delivered?

  • This course will be delivered both in the classroom and within a practical training facility.
  • Learners will receive two short written assessments on the course content.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Learners must bring their current ACS certificates, Gas Safe card, two passport photos, PPE and tools.
  • All reference materials will be provided.
