Service and Mainlaying Skills for Managers training course

A 5 day training course for agents, supervisors and network managers with entry level experience of working in a utility environment, and managers with no formal qualifications in gas networks. The course is recognised by GIRS and can be used as part of the Level 3 EU Skills award for Utility Supervisors.

How is this training delivered?

  • Theory is delivered in the classroom but there is an emphasis within the course to undertake practical experience of service and mainlaying operations, and to gain accreditation in relevant aspects.
  • Accreditation is undertaken through practical tests and written question papers.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Delegates should bring a helmet, high visibility clothing, safety boots and safety glasses, overalls and working gloves.
  • Delegates can bring with them any materials used in their work, copies of risk assessments or management systems so that they can see how their materials fit in to the context of the training.
