Supervising Working at Height training course

A 3 day training course for delegates nominated for appointment as authorising engineer, authorising person or person in charge working at height, on masts and towers and fixed accessways. Note: this is not an 'Approved Climbers Course'. Delegates attending this course who are to be appointed under the MOD Safety Rules should be in possession of a completed and countersigned log book.

What you will learn

  • An Introduction to The Health and Safety at Work Act, The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and the Working at Height Regulations 2005.
  • Application of JSP 375 Volume 3 Chapter 7.
  • Types of Work at Height, Safe Systems of Work for Work at Height, Safety Management Team, Authorised Climbers, Risk Assessment for Works at Height.
  • Fall Protection Equipment (FPE) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Safety Documentation Monitoring & Auditing.

What qualifications will you achieve?

  • The output from this course is a recommendation to support decisions when considering the appointment of AE, AP or Person in Charge.

How is this training delivered?

  • The theory of the course is delivered in the classroom, but there is an emphasis on hands on practical experience with relevant equipment wherever this is possible.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Delegates can bring with them any materials used in their work, copies of risk assessments or management systems so that they can see how their materials fit in to the context of the training.
