A 5 day training course for engineers who have responsibility as reservoir supervising engineers within the terms of the Reservoirs Act 1975. The course is also suitable for engineering managers wishing to gain a detailed insight into reservoir supervision and of related procedures.

Note: This course includes evening training, and some nights finishes around 9:30pm. It is advised that you book accommodation along with the course unless you live relatively close to the training location.

How is this training delivered?

  • Theory is delivered in the classroom. The course will include lectures and discussions by visiting panel engineers and specialist consultants.
  • Visits to local reservoirs are included to provide ample opportunity to develop and apply practical supervision skills. Case studies are used to assist the learning process.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Delegates should bring a copy of the 1975 Reservoirs Act, Floods and Reservoir Safety; An Engineering Guide (ICE) and A Guide to the Reservoirs Act 1975 - Defra.
  • Please bring waterproof clothing, wellington boots, safety helmets and a suitable note book will be required for site visits.
  • Delegates can bring with them any materials used in their work, copies of risk assessments or management systems so that they can see how their materials fit in to the context of the training.
