News Release: Wednesday 4 April 2007
It's a brand new build!
On March 29, 2007, the Mayor of Swindon, Councillor Mike Bawden cut the ribbon on Develop's brand new, purpose built Confined Space training facility.
The facility, located on Frankland Road in Swindon, is designed to provide top of the line Health & Safety training in the South West area.
'It provides the closest thing to on-the-job-training,' said Develop's Health and Safety Unit Manager Andy Richford.
The Mayor is delighted that Develop have chosen Swindon as the venue for this superb facility. 'It's another positive endorsement for the town in attracting business investment and will no doubt lead to many, many more people visiting us here in Swindon,' Councillor Bawden said.
Members of the construction industry, representatives from water utilities and the Ministry of Defence communities were there for the open day and demonstrations included evacuation drills, a simulated gas emergency and various rescue scenarios.
