Develop Training Opens New Engineering Training Centre in Scotland

John Kerr, Business Director (Gas) and Darah Zahran, EU Skills Director open the new training facility at Linlithgow, Scotland
Develop Training are pleased to announce the addition of their new Engineering and Multi-Utility Training Facility in Linlithgow, Scotland which was officially opened on 23rd March 2010 by Darah Zahran of Energy and Utility Skills.
The open day was a great success with over 40 customers including the MOD and some of the country's largest utility companies such as SGN, Turriff Contractors, Scottish Water and Clancy Docwra visiting the new site to see what it has to offer and view demonstration areas designed to showcase some of Develops capabilities in Butt Fusion, Confined Spaces, Streetworks, Deep Excavation and Low Voltage Electrical including 17th Edition Wiring and Refrigeration.
On opening the new venue Darah Zahran of Energy and Utility Skills stated: 'I am delighted to be asked here today to open Develop's new Scottish Centre. It is a pleasure in this economic climate, when we are witnessing so many businesses downsizing, to see the development of new premises which already have a sense of energy and purpose around them, and which will contribute positively to Scotland's economic prosperity and sustainability through the delivery of relevant, quality training across a number of the country's priority industry sectors'.
The training centre expands the current offering available to customers in Scotland, providing a full range of over 300 open and bespoke Utility training courses, as well as their own City and Guilds 5831 register scheme, across a range of disciplines including; Gas and Water Networks, Electrical, Deep Excavations, Trench Support Techniques, Streetworks, Confined Spaces, Legionella, Behavioural and Health and Safety. The company also has plans to grow the number of courses on offer at the centre to include NHS Electrical, Mechanical and F-Gas training to name a few.
Over the past 30 years Develop has ran this wide range of training solutions for some of the country's top utility companies and contractors including Scottish Water, Scotia Gas Networks, Turriff Contractors and McNicolas Construction,
