'All of the relevant knowledge'
18 March 2016
As we mentioned earlier this week, over the next few weeks we’ll be chatting with groups of delegates at our training centre in Derby. The latest class of delegates we caught up with were visiting from BT Openreach and here to undertake one of our popular Streetworks courses.
DTL’s NRSWA signing, lighting and guarding course is one of our most popular and uses practical training to improve the knowledge and skills of all those who come to train with us.
Our delegates come from all over the country and we enjoyed hearing the experiences of those attending a DTL course for the first time over a freshly prepared meal in our on-site canteen. Richard from Norwich explained what he enjoyed about his time here: “The best part was our trainer, who was very informative and had all of the relevant knowledge.”
Similarly, Steve from Birmingham said that our trainer, Paul, “kept the course interesting” and Mark from Cardiff explained how he “was kept informed at all times”.
Whilst in our canteen, the guys enjoyed a freshly prepared meal and reflected on the day so far. “It was a lot more hands-on than I was expecting”, said Anthony from Swansea. Shortly after finishing the course, Mark from Northampton explained how he felt he had a “better confidence when carrying out signing, lighting and guarding for BT Openreach”.
What we can offer
Streetworks training is compulsory for any person working on or adjacent to the public highways, and is the legal route to achieving essential qualifications - many of which must be renewed every five years. At DTL we deliver courses to meet the training needs of every streetworks discipline; from signing, lighting and guarding, to reinstating the highways, and locating and avoiding underground apparatus.
