07 July 2016
An SGN Team Leader and recent delegate at Develop Training Ltd (DTL) has been shortlisted for an award by City & Guilds. David Wilson was awarded a City & Guilds Medal for Excellence following his nomination by DTL lecturers while studying towards a Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Natural Gas in 2014/2015.
Having won a Medal for Excellence, David is now in the running to win a Lion Award trophy at City & Guilds’ most prestigious awards ceremony in London this week. The Lion Awards recognise the best of the best, and David is eligible to win in a number of categories including Apprentice of the Year, Employee Learner of the Year, Outstanding Achievement of the Year and the People’s Choice Award.
Speaking at the time of David’s Medal for Excellence announcement, DTL Senior Lecturer Darren Robson reflected that the award was “richly deserved and reflected the effort and quality of David’s work and commitment to his apprenticeship.”
Neil Snell, Head of Training and Development for SGN, agreed saying “We’re delighted to hear that David has won a Medal for Excellence. He is a fine example of the talented, skilled and professional young people we see developing through our apprenticeship programme.”
DTL would like to wish David – who is pictured above (left) receiving his Medal for Excellence from DTL’s Darren Robson – the best of luck at this week’s Lion Awards ceremony.
