Delegates feel the love at DTL Mechanical Awareness seminar!
14 February 2017
A love of all things pressure systems-related was in the air today as delegates gathered at DTL's Derby training centre for our first Mechanical Awareness seminar.
The event, designed for managers and directors in training, HR, learning & development or technical compliance, was a mix theory and practical demonstration, providing useful insights into the principles behind safe isolation of plant and equipment, and the practical concept of valve operations.
Lecturers Chris Parker, Mark Ward and Bob Collings took delegates through various isolation methods identified in HSG253 (2nd edition) and current related guidance before demonstrating how to safely isolate a live pressure system and explaining how to reduce risk from associated health and safety hazards.
The event was the latest in DTL's series of Awareness seminars which have also covered confined spaces, HV electrical safety and Management Development.
