Develop Training Ltd (DTL) has teamed up with a new online platform to support delegates who need help with mathematics.
Citizen Maths is a not-for-profit initiative for people who want to improve their grasp of maths and become more confident in its use. The Level two course, equivalent to the level that a school leaver is expected to achieve, is based on solving problems that can arise at work and in life. These include the use of spreadsheets, estimating quantities or assessing odds. The self-help course is free and can be accessed by via the Internet.
Rounded developmental experience
Chris Wood, CEO of DTL, said: "We are publicising these courses to all of our learners across our centres nationwide. As a leading training provider, we recognise the important role we can play in promoting the value of maths to our delegates. Citizen Maths is an excellent platform on which to improve one’s confidence in using maths in practical, real-world situations. DTL is proud to be able to provide a rounded developmental experience that will help our delegates become more able in all aspects of their working lives."
"Helping adults to improve their grasp of maths is a genuinely 'hard problem', and an important one," said Seb Schmoller, Citizen Maths Project Director, "We are very pleased that DTL has decided to partner with us and to encourage its learners to make use of Citizen Maths."
