DTL hitting the headlines
14 July 2016
DTL has been hitting the headlines in the last couple of months following a stark warning issued by CEO Chris Wood regarding the UK's current skills shortage.
Chris' suggestion that if the skills shortage isn't addressed we could see a situation where plumbers and electricians' wages skyrocket towards the levels seen in the Barclays Premier League.
The story has seen extensive coverage in industry publications including FM World, Water & Wastewater Treatment, Recruitment International, Construction Buzz, Utility Week, HR Network, Electrical Times, Training Journal, East Midlands Business Link, Wet News and Pay Stream.
In addition, Chris' comments have formed the basis for feature articles in regional titles such as Derby Telegraph, Leicester Builder Magazine, Falkirk Herald and the Plymouth Herald.
Time for action
"The headlines should serve as a call to action for industry to come together to address this looming skills crisis," said Marketing Manager Steve Braund, "We've seen an encouraging start to this through the Industry Skills Forum set up by DTL earlier this year, but in order to achieve tangible success we need more involvement from industry and I would encourage any companies interested - particularly from Facilities Management, Utilities or Construction - to get in touch."
