DTL welcome customer service specialist, Darren Cook

Develop Training (DTL) is pleased to welcome Darren Cook to the Customer Service team at Derby as a Customer Service Administrator.

Customer facing

The Customer Service team, led by Client Engagement Manager, Ben Shilton, is comprised of 13 people based in Derby and a number of other training centres around the UK from Linlithgow near Edinburgh, to Lisburn near Belfast.

In his new role, Darren will be responsible for processing various course documentation, sending certificates to delegates and handling customer enquiries, amongst a wide range of other duties.

Career history

Prior to joining the Customer Service team, Darren worked for 12 weeks at DTL as a temporary Receptionist. The team were highly impressed with his work ethic and natural flair for administration, so when a vacancy arose for an administrator, Darren was the natural choice. Prior to this Darren spent 4 years working as a Health and Safety Administrator for the fire service, where he was able to gain IOSH accreditation and a number of other H&S qualifications.

Darren explains, “I really enjoyed the time I spent on Reception at DTL, especially the wide variety of people from all walks of life that I spoke with on a daily basis. It was during this time that I really got to experience the positive and friendly culture at DTL, and this is what ultimately attracted me to working for the business on a permanent basis. The business is growing rapidly too so I know I’ll never be short of things to do!”

Spare time

In his spare time Darren sings and plays guitar in a band called, The In-Here Brothers. He lives with his partner in Derby, along with their two cats; Sulley and Misty.
