Extensive DTL feature in Gas International

06 June 2016

Develop Training Ltd (DTL) has been featured in Gas International magazine discussing the risks of injury and death for those working in confined spaces.

The major in depth article covers the legal requirements concerning confined spaces, the dangers, and the precautions necessary to create a safe working environment. Every year in the UK, as many as 30 people are killed and many more seriously injured in confined space-related incidents occurring across a wide range of industries.

Training at all levels

Lee Yearwood of DTL explains: “Ensuring safe working in confined spaces requires training at all levels, from those planning and supervising the work, to those entering and working in the space”.

“To be effective, this training has to include practical, industry and job-specific experience of the problems of working, using equipment or carrying out emergency procedures under realistic conditions”.

The full article can be seen in the next issue of IGEM’s Gas International newsletter, which will be available on their website soon.
