Specialist training provider, Develop Training Ltd (DTL) is delighted to see eight of SGN's southern-based employees complete their Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) course by delivering their final presentations to colleagues and mentors.
Based in depots across the south-east of England, the candidates completed their ILM course in December 2017, following 18 months of training and assignments.
The candidates' final presentations explored potential solutions to a wide range of real world issues facing the company, with some reporting that proposals were being implemented across SGN.
Investing in the future
SGN's Head of Technical Learning Neil Snell described the presentations as "part of the learning that they [the candidates] are getting to become future leaders of the company".
Speaking about the importance of investing in the candidates, Tracey McIntyre, Head of Operations for Southern Replacement, said: "SGN have a passion for developing leaders of the future so for us to invest our time in ensuring we can develop these people is absolutely fundamental to our core values."
Chris Wood, chief executive of DTL, commented that, "it's tremendous to see the value derived by SGN from this training. Not only do candidates learn the theory behind being managers they also put this into real-world practice to the benefit of their employer and themselves."
