Airport Ground Lighting and
Engineering Systems (BTEC Advanced
Award/Certificate).
These modular qualifications
are for personnel who are responsible
for the design, installation,
commissioning, maintenance and/or
operation of aeronautical ground
lighting systems (AGL).
The study programme is designed
so that staff can select units
relating to specific responsibilities,
to demonstrate their ability
to satisfy the requirements
of the relevant ICAO Annex 14,
CAP168 and IEC standards.
The Advanced Award will be
awarded to delegates who successfully
complete the three mandatory
units ICAO Annex 14, CAP168
and IEC standards.
The Advanced Certificate will
be awarded to delegates who
successfully complete the Award
and three additional optional
units.
Individual unit certificates
can be issued for delegates
who do not wish to complete
an Award or Certificate.

OPTIONS
Airport
Ground Lighting
Provides delegates with an
introduction to aeronautical
ground lighting systems (AGL),
application of luminaires and
control systems in accordance
with ICAO Annex 14 and CAP168
standards. CAA recognised and
BTEC approved.
Airport
Ground Lighting - Applications
Provides delegates with a greater
depth of knowledge in aeronautical
ground lighting systems (AGL).
CAA recognised and BTEC approved.
Airport
Ground Lighting - Authorised
Person
Provides delegates with sufficient
information and practical awareness
to enable them to carry out
Authorised Person Electrical
duties to comply with the Electricity
at Work Regulations 1989 and
IEC 61821. CAA recognised and
BTEC approved.
MOD
Airfield Systems
Provides delegates with a greater
knowledge of the systems, equipment
and procedures specific to MOD
airfields, includes introduction
to JSP 554.
