Develop has been a provider
of a wide range of quality training
programmes for all aspects of
the water and environment industry
for more than 30 years. The
changing nature of training
means that much work now consists
of bespoke programmes, developed
to meet specific organisational
requirements.
Certification
Added value is gained from
water and environment courses
that lead to assessment and
the award of recognised qualifications.
Such events help organisations
to provide evidence of staff
competence, where required,
and boost employees' morale.
Develop is approved to conduct
S/NVQ's and other external assessment
schemes by the following bodies:
- CABWI and SQA
- City & Guilds
- CITB
- The Water Jetting Association
Through the City & Guilds
5831 Utilities Operations Certification
Scheme, we design client-specific
training and assessment programmes
to meet particular organisational
requirements.
Continuing
Professional Development
Many professional organisations
require members undertake activities
to provide evidence of Continuing
Professional Development. Develop
course topics are selected to
meet the career needs of professionals
at all stages in their development.
Many are accepted by professional
bodies as evidence of CPD and
CET.
CASE STUDIES
Environment
Agency
The Environment Agency identified
a need to provide foundation
training in the methodology
of Abstraction licensing procedures
for many of its staff who had
been redeployed into that function.
Develop was awarded the tender
to develop and deliver the training.
Course development was done
in close consultation with Agency
specialists to a detailed specification,
closely adhering to the requirements
of the Abstraction licensing
Manual. At the heart of the
course is a multi-port case
study covering the whole of
the license determination process,
with short teaching sessions
to provide the essential knowledge
required at each step. The pilot
course was delivered at Develop's
Basingstoke training centre.
Eight further courses have been
run at various UK locations
selected by the Environment
Agency. More than 95% of attendees
achieved a satisfactory standard
in the final assessment.
Hong
Kong Sewerage Project
Sewerage Engineers in Hong
Kong are carrying out a major
project using CCTV inspection
to help them evaluate the condition
of their sewers and identify
those that are in need of rehabilitation.
Develop is working with Radiolocation
Hong Kong to provide training
and certification for CCTV Surveyors
working on this major sewerage
project.
Candidates are undertaking
Develop's five day Pipe Sewer
Condition Classification training
course. Successful candidates
are awarded a certificate that
is used to provide evidence
of their competence to the client
organisation, in this case the
Hong Kong Government Drainage
Services Department.
