Description:

To enable employees to select, examine and mount wheels on portable grinding machines in accordance with the requirements of Statutes, particularly the PUWER 98 Regulations and to use the equipment safely.

Who would Benefit:

Anyone required to mount, or supervise others mounting abrasive wheels, and who use or service and maintain portable grinding machines.

Training Coverage:

A review of relevant technical information is followed by practical demonstrations and exercises in:

• Applying the requirements of the Abrasive Wheel Regulations 1970, Provision and Use of Work Equipment 1998, Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 and the Noise at Work Regulations 1989
• How to select, examine and mount wheels on cutting and grinding machines
• How to examine cutting and grinding machines for faults
• The correct safe working procedure when using the machines

Training Information:

Course participants are requested to bring overalls and safety footwear.
