Description:
This course is intended for people who do not undertake regular heavy lifting but may be required to do occasional lifting and moving of relatively non-hazardous loads as part of their normal jobs.
Training Purpose:
Give delegates an awareness of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. Understand the legal responsibilites relating to manual handling.
Help delegates recognise and perform safe basic handling movements. Give delegates an appreciation of the principles of human kinetics.
Identify the risks involved in incorrectly handling and moving objects. Risk assessment and control of the risks involved.

Training Coverage:
By the end of the course delegates should be able to:

Training Information:
Classroom tuition, discussions and demonstrations by trainer and delegates. Delegates should wear suitable shoes and other clothes to be able to demonstrate safe lifting techniques. Any delegates having existing physical conditions or injuries that prevent them from taking part in the demonstrations should make the trainer aware of this.
