AP2 - Authorised Person: LV (MOD)
The course is centred around the essential safe working procedures of the Electricity at Work Regulations and MOD Electrical Safety Regulations and Procedures (JSP 375 Volume 3 Chapter 3).
AP3 - Authorised Person LV/HV Refresher (MOD)
The essential requirements of safe working procedures on HV equipment required by the Electricity at Work Regulations and MOD Electrical Safety Regulations and Procedures. The purpose is to provide the Authorised Person delegates with current statutory and mandatory Regulations and reinforce the application of Electrical Safety procedures. Also to ensure that any new developments in electrical safety and other relevant safety matters are brought to their attention.

BS5 - Disinfection of Water Supply Systems in Buildings
Safe disinfection of water systems in accordance with ACoP and Guidance notes on Legionellosis and BS6700 1997. For staff, supervisors or maintenance contractors required to carry out or hold responsibility for disinfection work. A Develop certificated course.
BS6 - Legionella L8 Awareness
For staff who are involved in the implementation of the written scheme and who are responsible for maintaining site log books. Provides delegates with background knowledge of legionella and to enable them to manage and implement the monitoring requirement of water systems to ensure ACoP compliance. BS8 - Legionellosis: Water Systems Refresher
A one day course for people who have successfully completed our Legionella City & Guilds courses, BS002, BS003 and BS23 and now find it necessary to update themselves on the new requirements of the Approved Code of Practice (L8). Candidates will be informed of the new requirements of the ACoP on the control of legionella bacteria in water systems and discuss the various control programmes which when implemented can mitigate risk to health. A Develop/City & Guilds certificated course.
BS9 - Legionellosis: Other Risk Systems
For people who carry out water systems risk assessments within buildings and who require more detailed information on these 'other systems'. Provides delegates with the legal and engineering knowledge they require to enable them to assess the risk to health from these systems. A Develop certificated course.
BS10 - Unvented Domestic Hot Water Systems
For people who are involved with the installation, commissioning and maintenance of water systems. Provides each delegate with the information necessary to satisfy the safety requirements for the installation and servicing of unvented domestic stored hot water systems as indicated in the Building Regulations and to ensure compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. BS12 - Water Supply (Fittings) Regulations

EM14 - Sewerage Rehabilitation - Forward Planning
The first in a series of three courses examines the procedures used to develop cost effective solutions to sewerage problems based on the philosophies and strategies contained in the Sewerage Rehabilitation Manual (Third Edition).

The third in a series of three courses covers the strategy for upgrading existing sewerage systems to meet flood control and pollution control objectives using the detailed methodologies of the Sewerage Rehabilitation Manual (Third Edition) and the Urban Pollution Management Manual. EM25 - Design of Combined Sewer Overflows and Storage Tanks
The course explains how the latest developments in analysis and design can be applied in practice and gives practical insights into the detailed design aspects of combined sewer overflows and storage tanks. Cost implications of current regulatory requirements are included.
EM32 - The Design of Pumping Systems
To consider the design aspects of typical pumping systems using examples taken from the water supply, sewerage and sewage disposal fields. Consideration can be given to the land drainage function.
ER7 - River Model Studies
Engineers and managers concerned with implementation of procurement of hydraulic modelling studies of river channels and floodplains will learn of the current capabilities of computer river models and receive advice on 'best practice' in the industry.
ER9 - Introduction to the Flood Estimation Handbook
An introduction to flood estimation using the Flood Estimation Handbook methods. Participants will become familiar with the new methods presented in the Flood Estimation Handbook and the tools for assisting in implementation of those methods. The central themes dwell on the reconciliation of alternative approaches and the analysis and interpretation of local data for refining flood estimates.
ER12 - Survey Requirements for River Models
The course will provide a consistent and efficient methodology for planning and executing river surveys. The course is designed to show the requirements for hydraulic modelling of rivers and how this data can be generated from topographic data. It is not a course on surveying techniques. The requirements of both small-scale surveys and larger, river basin surveys will be covered. The latest techniques will be covered, including integration of survey, GIS and computational model software.
ER14 - Management of Scour in Watercourses
Scour at bridge, culvert and retaining wall supports is a widely publicised phenomenon, particularly since the Glanrhyd and Inverness bridge failures in the 1980s. Since then much new work has been undertaken by railway and highway authorities to develop methods of scour assessment and risk minimisation. This one-day course will cover the latest methods available for managing the scour problem and will provide guidance on the requirements for an effective scour risk minimisation strategy.
ER15 - Arterial Drainage Design
The emphasis is on practical design guidance and the requirements of regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency, Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland regarding the granting of drainage consent for developments.
ES26 - Reinforced Concrete Design to BS8110
The foundation module in a four course series, the course concentrates on initial sizing and element design. It includes loading, buildability, worked examples and classroom based workshop periods.
ES28 - Reinforced Concrete Design to BS8007
The specialised design needs for water containing structures, concentrating on controlling crack width using reinforcement and the application of concrete technology. The design of joints is a major consideration. This is the third course in this series.

SHE13 - First Aid at Work Requalification
A statutory Health & Safety Approved First Aid course which leads to a re-qualification certificate valid for three years. Training will be focussed on first aid a twork and take into account hazards at work and the nature and type of illness or injury the student may come across. First aiders will be re-trained to give immediate treatment and recognise when it is necessary to get expert help.

SHE25 - Asbestos Awareness

SHE26 - Repair of Asbestos Pipes (Water Industry)
