Mechanical Trainer

Develop are looking for a Mechanical Trainer to deliver training and assessment for the product area.

Location(s):  North – with National coverage

Employment:  Full-time, Permanent

Salary:  £35K-£38K, plus Company car

Remote based – must be able to easily and regularly commute to all nationwide centres.

N.B. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a criminal record check as part of our safeguarding duty and every 3 years thereafter.

The role

This trainer role includes:

  • Delivering training and assessment for the product area.
  • Working closely with the Operational Training Manager to develop and maintain the products and facilities.
  • Working with the Quality Assurance and Audit team who are responsible for IQA.
  • Working with sales and marketing to respond to customer enquiries.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Working knowledge of safe systems of work on Mechanical Systems (Steam/HTHW & compressed air).
  • Experience as a mechanical Authorised Person – minimum 3 years.
  • A thorough understanding of HSG253.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in and hold F Gas Cat 1 qualification.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 Teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET or equivalent).
  • Level 3 Assessor Qualification (TAQA, A1 or equivalent).
  • HNC in Engineering (or equivalent).

Associate role for a Water Systems Trainer with knowledge of Water Regulations and experience carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments.

  • Deliver and assess a range of water systems and legionella courses.
  • Review and develop the product portfolio to ensure competitive advantage.
  • Provide support as a technical lead within your product area to customer services teams.
  • Quality Assure training packs and the maintain the centre file and auditory requirements of the curriculum team for the business area.
  • Work with learners, clients and colleagues to ensure that all training is effective and delivers positive outcomes in accordance with awarding bodies requirements.
  • Monitor and promote the health, safety and welfare of learners and act accordingly where issues are identified.

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an Electrical & Instrumentation Lecturer based in the South East providing nationwide coverage as required.

Trainers delivering Develops products will:

Skills, qualifications and experience

Ideally you will have relevant teaching experience and working knowledge of the following:

  • Possession of a Level 3 teaching qualification. AET/CET or equivalent and relevant experience, support will be provided if not held.
  • Possession of an assessing qualification. TAQA level 3 or equivalent, support will be provided if not held.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical and instrumentation within gas distribution networks, this must include knowledge of the gas networks Codes of Practice, systems of work and authorisation processes.
  • Maintenance on industrial equipment supplied by low voltage.
  • Working knowledge of and experience of operation and switching of low voltage equipment, including safe systems of work.
  • Visual and periodic inspection and testing of low voltage equipment.
  • Operational experience in:
    • Field instrumentation (level, pressure, temperature, and flow).
    • Control loops.
    • Control Valves.
    • Actuators.
    • Transmitters.
  • Hazardous area experience (COMPEX qualified desirable).
  • Process control / control systems knowledge.
  • Safe isolation of electrical systems.
  • Qualified in English and Mathematics to a minimum of Level 2.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted’s requirements in respect of Safeguarding and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Working knowledge of the authorisation process documents – EL6 and associated policies.

Desirable:

  • Hold an HNC in appropriate subject although minimum level City and Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation with appropriate experience.

Do you have experience in the operation of High and Low Voltage switchgear including safe system of work documentation and wanting to make a switch into training the next generation of Authorised Persons?

Following training you will:
