What you’ll learn on this course
- To lay, test and commission Polyethylene Pipe services.
- Butt Fusion/Electro Fusion techniques.
- Main-laying techniques.
- Bag Stop operations.
- Squeeze off connections.
- Pressure testing.
- Mains purging.
What do I need to bring with Me?
- Learners should bring a helmet, high visibility clothing, safety boots and safety glasses, overalls and working gloves.
- Learners can bring with them any materials used in their work, copies of risk assessments or management systems so that they can see how their materials fit in to the context of the training.
How is the training delivered?
- Theory is delivered in the classroom but there is an emphasis within the course to undertake practical applications of service and mainlaying operations, in order to gain hands on appreciation in relevant aspects.
- Accreditation is undertaken through written question papers.
Qualifications available
- EUSR Card listing Gas Distribution for Managers via the Energy & Utility Skills Endorsed Training Programme, which lasts 5 years.
- On completion of the course learners will be sent a virtual EUSR card to their mobile phones. Therefore a mobile phone number must be provided on the day. Hard copy cards, if required, must be requested prior to course delivery and will incur additional fees.

the course was very content heavy for the time allowed, however it covered all we would need to know, the trainer was very knowledgeable. I personally would have liked more time in the workshop. The venue was fine. I think that providing the copy of MSL1 to keep so that I could make notes on the document for future reference would have been a great benefit.
