A 3 day training course to test the gas safety competence of those holding CCN1 who intend to carry out work for an Emergency Service Provider, dealing with gas emergencies downstream of the ECV/MIV.

Pre-requisite/entry requirements

Initial assessment
Learners must hold CCN1.

Learners must hold CCN1 and CoDNESP1.

Benefits of attending for the learner

  • Learners will have knowledge of the gas safety regulations, standards and procedures relating to the safe operation and on-going maintenance of pipework and fittings including limited understanding of various appliances for safe operation of how they work.

Benefits of attending for the employer

  • This course will allow employers responsibilities to be met under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Gas Safety Installations and Use Regulations 1998.

What you will learn

Course content:

  • Installation of pipework and fittings
  • Unsafe situations, use of emergency notices and warning labels
  • Operation and positioning of emergency isolation controls and valves (in ND premises)
  • Ventilation /chimney standards (ND)
  • Re-establish existing gas supply and relight appliances (ND)

What qualifications will you achieve?

  • Learners will receive a short written assessment on the course content. Upon successful completion learners will be issued with an ERS accredited qualification in CoDNESP1.

How is this training delivered?

  • This course will be delivered both in the classroom and within a practical training facility.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Learners must bring their current ACS certificates, Gas Safe card, two passport photos, PPE and tools.
  • All reference materials will be provided.
