Non-Domestic Diaphragm Meters (MET4)
Course overview
Course that tests learners gas safety competence to install and commission light commercial gas sized meters up to 40m/3/hr with pipework up to 2” in size.
Candidates successfully completing this assessment may also install LP meters of capacity = 6m³/h.

Pre-requisite/entry requirements
Learners must hold one of the following core qualifications:
- CMA1
- CESP1
- CCN1
- COCN1
- CCCN1
If working on meters > 16m³/hr, or working on installations out of scope of UP/1B TPCP1 or TPCP1A is required.
Work on meters with MP supply also requires REGT2.

Employees will be competent and legally able to install and commission light commercial gas sized meters up to 40m/3/hr and not greater than 75mbar pressure.

- Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998
- Tightness testing and purging
- Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure
- Scope of operatives work checking and setting regulators
- Operation and positioning of emergency isolation and warning labels
- Emergency procedures
- Pipe-work requirements
- Appliance inspections
What do I need to bring with Me?
Learners must bring their current ACS certificates, Gas Safe card, two passport photos, PPE and tools.
All reference materials will be provided.
How is the training delivered?
The training is delivered by a combination of theoretical and practical sessions.
The assessment is split into 3 areas, Theory - multiple choice questionnaires (both open and closed book), Practical Observations and Practical Assessment Workbook Scenarios. Candidates must achieve a pass in all 3 areas.
Qualifications available
Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will be issued with an NICEIC accredited qualification in MET4 Non-Domestic Diaphragm Meters.
