Course overview

A 2 day training course designed to improve knowledge concerning control of legionella in hot and cold water systems; ideal for learners wishing to get more heavily involved in the subject. This course is heavily focused around the HSE’s technical guidance document HSG 274 Part 2. It aims to increase knowledge and allow more informed decision making concerning multiple factors such as configuration, turnover, temperature control etc.

Learners wishing to attend this course should have some industry experience or have been introduced to the subject matter prior (for example, by undertaking our WS11 course – Legionella Awareness and ACOP L8).

How is this training delivered?

  • Learning will come in a classroom environment in the form of trainer explanation, group discussions, videos, practical classroom exercises and will be broken up with breakout sessions. The City and Guilds accreditation is assessed through written tests.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • All course material will be provided by the trainer, however, learners are welcome to bring with them any materials used within legionella management such as risk assessments, water hygiene logbooks or management systems so that they can see how their materials fit in to the context of the training.
