Mechanical Introduction for Electrical Technicians training course

A 5 day training course for learners who come from an electrical background and have or who are about to be given responsibility for work on plant and building services of a predominantly mechanical nature.

What you will learn

• Relevant legislation and risk assessment.
• An awareness of valves, pumps and pumping systems, refrigeration systems, air conditioning systems, compressed air systems, internal combustion engines.
• An awareness of boilers and associated plant, fuel storage and handling, combustion of fuels, heat transfer. Water treatments, sampling and testing.
• Statutory inspections and safe systems of work.

How is this training delivered?

• The theory of the electrical to mechanical conversion training is delivered in the classroom, but there is an emphasis on demonstration and hands on practical experience with relevant equipment wherever this is possible.

What do I need to bring with me?

• Learners can bring with them any materials used by their own employer, copies of risk assessments or management systems so that they can see how their materials fit in to the context of the training.

  4 day course for compliance with safe working procedures on mechanical systems. MOD JSP 375 safety rules.
