Course overview

A ½ day training course for all persons working with, or supervising others working with, abrasive wheels and portable equipment. The training is tailored towards those involved in excavation of roads and construction of utilities but would be relevant to any person using portable equipment on site.

  • Mounting and using abrasive wheels.
  • Defining hazards & risks. Implementing risk control measures.

What qualifications will you achieve?

  • Successful delegates will receive after completing the programme of learning a Develop Training Certificate of competence in the safe use of portable abrasive wheels.

How is this training delivered?

  • Theory is delivered in the classroom but there is an emphasis on demonstrating the practical application of the lessons learned by demonstration and practical exercises.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Learners should bring with them hearing protection, safety boots, safety glasses, hard hat, working gloves and overalls/high visibility vests (waterproof clothing is advisable).
