Course (BS 8580-1:2019 compliant) for learners who conduct legionella risk assessments of larger hot and cold water systems. It is a process description and auditing course, highly recommended and specifically designed at improving competency for those wishing to undertake legionella risk assessments of larger hot and cold water systems.
Should the learner be very inexperienced, Legionella and ACOP L8 Awareness prior to sitting the Management of Legionella Bacteria in Hot and Cold Water Systems should be the route of entry, before finally sitting this WS8. Sitting a prior Management of Legionella Bacteria in Hot and Cold Water Systems course is also highly recommended for more experienced learners, if they have not undertaken detailed hot and cold water system training since 2014.

Pre-requisite/entry requirements
Learners wishing to undertake this training and assessment must have undertaken one of the following routes of entry:
- A minimum of two years industry experience as a legionella risk assessor.
- Complete Management of Legionella Bacteria in Hot and Cold Water Systems course prior to sitting this course.

The material delivered will not include a description of how hot and cold water systems should be designed, operated, maintained and managed - this course assumes you have prior knowledge and is focused on the process of risk assessment and competent auditing of the systems and structures in place to control legionella.
What do I need to bring with Me?
- All course material will be provided by the trainer, however, learners are welcome to bring with them any materials used within legionella management such as risk assessments, water hygiene logbooks or management systems so that they can see how their materials fit in to the context of the training.
How is the training delivered?
- Learning will come in a classroom environment in the form of trainer delivery of slides, individual and group workbook exercises, videos, trainer activities and video walkthrough of an example commercial hot and cold water system showing a how a system survey can be performed.
