What will you be doing?

The Assessor will be responsible for the assessment of learners progress by:

  • Undertaking assessment activities in a supportive manner to the highest standards
  • Acting with honesty and integrity at all times
  • Having an outstanding subject knowledge
  • Keeping knowledge and skills up to date and being self-critical
  • Forging positive professional relationships
  • Working with learners clients and colleagues to ensure that the assessment programme is effective and delivers positive outcomes
  • Promoting English, Mathematics and other core skills
  • Monitoring the health, safety and welfare of the learners and acting accordingly where issues are identified
  • Acting as an ambassador for Develop and its values

Responsibilities

  • To set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge learners
  • To identify individual learner needs through initial assessment
  • To ensure all submitted work is assessed in a timely manner
  • To promote outstanding progress and outcomes by learners across all their learning aims
  • To demonstrate outstanding subject and curriculum knowledge
  • To adapt assessment methods to respond to the strengths and needs of all learners
  • To make accurate and productive use of assessment whilst maintaining full and accurate records of decisions, including supportive feedback
  • To develop effective professional relationships with learners, employers and colleagues
  • To communicate effectively with learners and employers with regard to learners’ achievements and areas of further development
  • To evaluate the success of the assessment programme and to participate in Continuous Professional Development
  • To undertake risk assessments and introduce control measures to ensure that learners are safe at all times
  • To promote English, Mathematics and other core skills
  • To ensure the Health, safety and welfare of their learners at all times
  • To ensure that any safeguarding concerns are dealt with timely and in line with Develop policies
  • To regularly attend and positively contribute to standardisation meetings
  • To keep their online diary up to date at all times

Specific Job Skills

  • Experience in assessing vocational qualifications ideally C&G 2346 or 2357
  • Experience of using E Portfolios
  • The ability to communicate both internally and externally at all levels
  • The ability to adapt to change and deliver a consistent learner focussed service
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Industry experience
  • Evidence of a minimum of 30 hours per annum Continued Professional Development
  • The ability to deliver technically based courses in an engaging and stimulating way
  • The ability to work additional hours when required
  • The ability to identify and deal with learner health, safety and welfare issues in a timely manner
  • The ability to travel as required to meet the needs of the business
  • Full valid UK Driving Licence

Qualifications

  • 18th Edition.
  • C&G 2391- -Inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations
  • Level 3 Assessor Qualification (TAQA, A1 or equivalent)
  • Minimum NVQ L3 electrotechnical qualification

Interview Information

First stage interviews will take place over telephone for approximately twenty-minutes. With a view to progress successful candidates to a face-to-face interview at one of our Training Centres whereby you will be asked a set of competency-based questions followed by a micro-teach conducted by yourself. Interviews will take place whilst the advert is still live, so do not delay getting your application in!
