A great learning environment - Streetworks Delegates in Swindon
23 June 2016
This week, we caught up with delegates in our Swindon training centre to gain their thoughts on our NRSWA signing, lighting and guarding assessment course.
The one day training course has been designed by Develop Training (DTL) to improve the skillset of operatives who work on the roadways and use road signs and traffic lights to protect motorists, pedestrians and the workforce on the highway.
Employees of William Gilder Ltd of Cheltenham joined us to improve their knowledge of safety on the roads. Nathan said: “I would recommend this training course, because the information will help me a lot, and the trainer was excellent”. Similarly, Nick described the course as “a great learning environment”, whilst Cory explained how our trainer “fully explained everything and made sure that we understood everything before moving on”.
When asked to describe the day, Wayne simply said “top marks” and all of the delegates on the course agreed that their ability to work safely had improved. Christopher was impressed with DTL’s trainer: “He was a great tutor who had brilliant knowledge and all of the relevant experience.”
Practical training in real life situations
Throughout the day, theory is delivered in the classroom, but there is an emphasis on practicing skills in the highway in a low risk, supervised and controlled situation. Delegates tell us they value the opportunity to practice skills in a real life situation.
The City and Guilds qualification element is assessed through written tests and observation of practical exercises.
