Develop Training acquired by JTL
16 September 2019
In an exciting move for Develop Training Limited, the organisation today announces its acquisition by JTL, the leading national training provider for electrical and plumbing & heating apprenticeships.
Established almost 30 years ago by the Electrical Contractors’ Association and Unite the Union, JTL is a charity organisation offering apprenticeships, traineeships, assessment services and professional development training across the electro-technical and mechanical engineering services sectors.
JTL currently work with over 8,000 learners and 3,700 employers across England and Wales in more than 100 locations, including dedicated JTL training facilities in Orpington, Birmingham, Aldercar, Tankersley, Norwich, Yeovil, Oxford, Maidstone, Ashford, Preston, Carlisle and York.
With a natural synergy between Develop Training and JTL's provision, the acquisition represents an opportunity for both to expand our offering and extend the national coverage. For you as Develop customers this means more choice and will enable Develop Training to grow their current apprenticeship programmes through JTL's support.
Both organisations will continue to operate under their current trading names, with business as usual.
John Kerr, Managing Director at Develop Training, said: "Being part of JTL will provide a major growth opportunity for apprenticeships and professional short courses and we are very excited about the future."
JTL Chief Executive Jon Graham said: "This is a truly exciting step forward for both businesses and the sectors we work in. We are really pleased to be welcoming such a well-established and respected brand within the industry into the JTL family.
"There is a natural synergy between Develop Training and JTL, so we are looking forward to working together to build upon the offering of both companies on a national level."
