Course for the safe mounting and use of portable abrasive wheel equipment. An Energy & Utility Skills endorsed training programme which provides the theory and practical experience to the recognised level of competence required by the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).

What you’ll learn on this course
- Select the correct cutting/grinding wheel for the material to be used.
- Select appropriate machine for type of task.
- Carryout user checks on machines and cutting/grinding wheels.
- Fit abrasive wheel to machine in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
- Select and use appropriate personal safety equipment.
- Safely operate the machine whilst cutting/grinding.
What do I need to bring with Me?
- Safety goggles (BSEN 166 1B), ear defenders, gloves, overalls, safety boots/shoes, dust mask and safety helmet.
How is the training delivered?
- Workshop and classroom based tuition with hands on experience in mounting wheels, cutting/grinding operations.
Qualifications available
- Successful delegates will receive after completing the programme of learning an EUSR card Abrasive Wheels - Grinders and Cut Off Saws which will last 3 years from date of training.
- On completion of the course learners will be sent a virtual EUSR card to their mobile phones. Therefore a mobile phone number must be provided on the day. Hard copy cards, if required, must be requested prior to course delivery and will incur additional fees.
