Develop joins JTL at its latest centre opening in Eastbourne

12 February 2024     News

On Thursday, 8th February, JTL, a leading apprenticeship provider in England and Wales and the parent company of Develop Training, officially opened its newest training facility in Eastbourne. The event, held during National Apprenticeship Week (5th – 11th February), and graced by the presence of Eastbourne’s Mayor, Councillor Candy Vaughan, marked the opening of JTL’s 13th training centre.

Situated at the Highfield Industrial Estate, the state-of-the-art training centre is strategically positioned to address the escalating demand for electrical apprenticeship training in the local community. This expansion aligns with JTL’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the electrical industry and facilitating the development of skilled professionals across England and Wales.

Develop Training will also be making use of the centre by delivering a diverse range of training courses for those in the building services engineering sector, including electrical training courses such as 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations. This comes hot on the heels of Develop’s recent announcement that it intends to broaden out its commercial training delivery to better support the building services engineering sector by helping to upskill industry professionals.

Matthew Gray, Head of Operations & Training, explains,

We’re continuing to strengthen our position in the building services engineering sector, supporting our sectors and customers’ transition to net zero, particularly electricians, plumbers, heating and ventilation engineers, building management systems and fire control. A lot of courses for those audiences, we already deliver, and have been doing so successfully for many years now, so it’s just a case of engaging with them and letting them know we’re now delivering on their doorstep from JTL’s 13 UK-wide centres, Develop’s 6 centres, or their own sites.”
